Overview
In March 2024, Microsoft announced the MSOnline module deprecation with future plans for the module retirement. To align with the direction of Microsoft and prepare for the planned retirement of the module, Cayosoft migrated the MSOnline-based features and functionality and provided in-place replacements in Cayosoft Administrator. This article lists the steps to migrate from the legacy MFA Settings web action to the Authentication Methods web action in your instance of Cayosoft Administrator.
Instructions
The legacy MFA Settings web action is dependent on the MSOnline module scheduled for the retirement. To avoid workflow disruption and ensure smooth operation after the retirement period, perform the following steps and migrate from the MFA Settings web action to the Authentication Methods web action.
IMPORTANT: Cayosoft Administrator v12.2 and newer automatically remove the MFA Settings web action from your web queries. If you had manually added the MFA Settings web action to any web query, the web action stays. Unlink the web action manually and replace it with the updated Authentication Methods web action following the steps below.
Cayosoft Administrator v12.1 and newer
-
In the Cayosoft Administrator console, navigate to Home > Configuration > Web Portal > Web Actions > Microsoft 365.
-
Open the MFA Settings (legacy) web action and click the Unlink button in the right pane.
-
Select all web queries and click Remove to unlink the web action and save changes.
-
Depending on the target system, select the appropriate web action collection (AD or Microsoft 365) and open the Authentication Methods web action.
-
In the right pane, click Link to and select the target web queries by selecting the checkboxes. Review the placement setting to define the new web action location. Click Add to save changes.
Cayosoft Administrator v11.4
-
Establish the Virtual Admin Units that include web queries with the MFA Settings (legacy) web action.
-
In the Cayosoft Administrator console, navigate to Home > Configuration > Web Portal > Virtual Admin Units.
-
For each instance of the web action, navigate to the target web query, select the Web Actions tab, click the MFA Settings (legacy) web action, and click Remove. Click Save Changes to update the web query.
-
Repeat the step #2 for each web query that contains the MFA Settings (legacy) web action.
-
After you've deleted the web action from the web queries, navigate to the web action of the appropriate web action collection (AD or Microsoft 365). Refer to the following example for the Microsoft 365 extension: Home > Configuration > Web Portal > Web Actions > Microsoft 365 > Authentication Methods.
-
In the right pane, click Link to and select the target web queries by selecting the checkboxes. Review the placement setting to define the new web action location. Click Add to save changes.
