In some cases, it may be necessary to use detailed support logging to determine what actions were taken by the Cayosoft Administration Service. The Cayosoft Administrator console provides the option of enabling detailed support logging that will create a text-based log file that can be reviewed for additional information.
Note: Under normal operations, Detailed logging should remain disabled so that product performance is not affected.
Enabling Detailed Support Logging
- In the Cayosoft Administrator Console navigation tree expand Service Logging
- Click the Enable Logging button at the bottom of the content window.
Logging is now enabled and the words Support Logging Enabled should appear at the bottom of the navigation tree. - Perform the task for which detailed logging is needed.
- Return to Service Logging and click Disable Logging.
- Click Open Folder Location to view the log file that was created.
The log file is a simple text file and can be opened with any text editor.
Creating a Detailed Service Startup Log
Note: Creating a detailed service startup log involves restarting the Cayosoft Administration Service. Any Users that are connected to a Cayosoft Administrator Console or Web Portal will be disconnected and will not be able to re-connect until the service has fully restarted.
- Logon to the Server that is running the Cayosoft Administration Service.
- In the Cayosoft Administrator Console navigation tree expand Service Logging.
- Click the Enable Logging button at the bottom of the content window.
Logging is now enabled and the words Support Logging Enabled should appear at the bottom of the navigation tree. - Perform the task for which detailed logging is needed.
- Return to the Service Logging and click Disable Logging.
- Click Open Folder Location to view the log file that was created.
