Summary: This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to resolve Account specified for Active Directory extension expired or credentials failed error when connecting to Active Directory.
Applies to: Cayosoft Administrator 7.0.0 only
ID: KB20200221-1
Overview
In Cayosoft Administrator 7.0.0, when configuring Active Directory extension and using a user principal name (UPN) for the Active Directory default credentials, Cayosoft Administrator requires the UPN suffix to be equal to the domain DNS name. Otherwise, if using a UPN with suffix other then domain name (i.e. not a default domain suffix) you may get the following error: Account specified for Active Directory extension expired or credentials failed, immediate attention required.
Follow the workaround described below to fix this issue in 7.0.0.
Workaround
- In Cayosoft Administrator Console navigate to Home > Configuration > Connected Systems Extensions > Active Directory
- In Active Directory default credentials specify user account name in form of DomainName\UserName.
- Click Save Changes.
- Click Check Settings.
- Verify that settings are validated successfully.
