Summary: This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to import a CSV file to Microsoft Excel if it has accents characters.

By default, Microsoft Excel opens CSV files using ASCII encoding. In order for accent characters are displayed properly, you should open the CSV file in UTF-8 format.
- Open Microsoft Excel.
- Click on the Data menu bar option.
- Click From Text/CSV
- Select the file that should be imported and click Import - Import wizard will appear on the screen.
- Specify a Delimiter that is used in your file. Usually, it is a comma.
- In File Origin select Unicode (UTF-8).
- Click Load.
