Connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server database with Amazon RDS in Cayoosft Guardian

To create and connect a Microsoft SQL Server database with Amazon RDS for Cayosoft Guardian, ensure you have the following set up:
- AWS Account with necessary permissions to create and manage RDS instances. If you don't already have an account, follow the Setting Up Your AWS Environment tutorial for a quick overview.
- Amazon RDS Security Group that allows inbound traffic from the Cayosoft Guardian server.
- Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

Connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database with Amazon RDS in Cayosoft Guardian
- Open the Cayosoft Guardian web portal.
- Navigate to Settings > System Databases.
- Select the database and click Properties.
- Enter credentials using the ones that you have used when connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server Database with Amazon RDS:
- SQL Server Name (Required) – Enter the SQL Server instance name (e.g., Host\Instance).
- Database Name (Required) – Specify the name of the database (e.g., Cayo.Guardian.History).
- Database Path – Provide the directory path or full path to the MDF file (if applicable).

SQL Server Authentication – If checked, you need to enter:
- Login Name – The SQL Server username.
- Password – The corresponding password.
- Additional connection Parameters – Optional parameters (e.g., Connection Timeout=30;Encrypt=False).
- Data copy options (Required) – Choose whether to copy history data.
- Create the specified database if not present on the SQL Server – Select Yes or No as needed.
- Click Save to apply the configuration.
