Specify the text file to be imported. The […] (three dots) button allows the user to browse for the file and the Create/Edit button allows the creation or editing of the existing file in the built-in Data Source editor. |
| Limit scope to this domain or OU |
This setting defines the search query scope. To improve query performance, limit the scope to a specific OU. IMPORTANT To test the rule configuration, limit the rule scope to an OU that contains test accounts or objects and use the Preview feature. |
| Data source anchor attribute | Specify the anchor column in the data source to find an existing object in Active Directory. This value is compared to the Active Directory anchor attribute. |
| Active Directory anchor attribute | Specify the anchor attribute in Active Directory to map it to the Data source anchor attribute in the data source. |
| More options | |
| Filter CSV data | Filter the data source to remove data rows from that satisfy the specified condition. |
| Properties to display | Specify the properties to display for each returned object. |
| Filter | Filter the returned data to hide the irrelevant results. |
| Empty field in data source |
Specify the action to take if there is an empty field:

| Initialization script |
Usually, rules use query criteria to limit the query search scope. It improves the performance of the executed rule. Due to the PowerShell limitations, it is not possible to use calculated expressions in query criteria. That is the point where the initialization script can help. You can initialize a global variable in this setting and then use it in query criteria. IMPORTANT To use a variable, declared in the initialization script, in the query scope, it must be global: Example: Update AD users, created in the last ten days.

| Update method |
Define the rule logic when updating organizational attributes of target objects:
|
| Simplified output | When set to Yes, the output displays the user attribute values as they were initially queried, providing faster performance. When set to No, the system requeries and verifies the values after the update, ensuring the output reflects the true final values. Choosing No may slow down the performance when handling large data queries due to the additional verification step. |
| Properties mapping | Map data source columns to the target object properties by using the picker dialog. |
| Properties mapping script |
Data mapping also can be set by the script. If you would like every provisioned user to have the extensionAttribute 1 populated with a string value, use the following script:
If you would like every provisioned user to have the extensionAttribute 2 populated with the corresponding value from the column in your data source file, use the following script:
NOTE If you set mapping for the same properties both in the Properties mapping and Properties mapping script, attribute values will be updated by the script. |
