Summary
This article describes how to add Backup Locations in Cayosoft Guardian.
Backup Locations are network file shares or Azure file shares, where the backup files can be created and managed by Cayosoft Guardian. DC Backups are registered backup files that are located in Backup Locations.
How to add a Backup location
Network storage that support SMB (Server Message Block) protocol version 3.0 (or higher), Amazon S3, and Azure file shares can be added as Backup Locations in Cayosoft Guardian.
How to add a network storage
- Open Cayosoft Guardian Web Portal
- Expand Forest Recovery node
- Select Backup Locations node
- Press Add network storage
- Specify a path to a network location and credentials
How to add an Azure file share
When adding an Azure file share a connection account must be specified. This account must have a Contributor role in the subscription to create a resource group and all related resources. In case you would like to use a pre-created resource group, a connection account must have a Contributor role in the resource group.
- Open Cayosoft Guardian Web Portal.
- Expand Forest Recovery node.
- Select Cloud services node.
- Press Add and select Azure subscription.
- In the wizard specify the connection account.
- Press the Grant button to grant consent.
- Select subscription and confirm.
- Expand Forest Recovery node.
- Click on the Backup locations node.
- Press Add and select Azure file share.
- Select pre-created subscription.
- Modify Resource group name in case you would like to use a different name or pre-created resource group.
- Modify storage account name in case you would like to use a different name or pre-created storage account.
- Modify Location if required.
- Modify Azure file share if required.
How to add an Amazon S3 storage
- Open Cayosoft Guardian Web Portal.
- Expand Forest Recovery node.
- Select Cloud services node.
- Press Add and select AWS account.
- In the wizard specify the connection account.
- Expand Forest Recovery node.
- Click on the Backup Locations node.
- Press Add and select Amazon S3.
- Modify parameters if required and press Add
