Activating Cayosoft Guardian license offline

The Cayosoft Guardian license can also be activated in case there is no connectivity.

NOTE: Offline license activation is not supported for Cayosoft Guardian Protector. Guardian Protector requires connectivity to the Cayosoft Licensing Service to activate and manage the license.

Activating the license offline

There are the following scenarios when activating the license offline:

1. A customer was previously using an offline activation file

2. A customer was using old-style license keys and the installation was never switched to new license mode

To activate the license offline in case the customer was previously using an offline activation file:

1. Click Activate product. The Product Activation wizard will open.

2. On the License Agreement page, read and accept the agreement by enabling the corresponding checkbox, and click Next.

3. The Transition to Offline Activation wizard will open in case the product can't connect to the Cayosoft Licensing Service. You will be presented with information about activating the product in an offline mode. Click Next.

4. Click the corresponding button to generate an activation request file, download it, and save it. Then, send the file to the Cayosoft Customer Success team to complete the license activation.

5. Click Next. The Upload Activation Response File wizard will open. Upload the Activation Response File received from the Cayosoft Customer Success team.

6. Click Next.

7. Click Close.

To activate the license offline in case the customer was using old-style license keys and the installation was never switched to new license mode:

1. Open the following file in a text editor: ...\Cayo Software\Guardian\appsettings.json

2. Locate the following section in the file and change the value of ServerMode from false to true. Then save the changes.

3. Use the Services console or services.msc to restart the Cayosoft Guardian service.

4. Navigate to the License section in the Cayosoft Guardian web portal and click Activate.

5. Activate the license by following the on-screen instructions from the product activation wizard.
