How to adjust the delay for alert notifications
Cayosoft Guardian allows to configure notifications for each raised alert. Some additional details that must be included in a message might not be available at the moment when an alert is created. There is a pre-configured delay to postpone notifications until this delay time passes or until all necessary data is discovered. This article describes how to disable this delay for a specific alerting rule and how to change the default delay timeout.
How to disable the delay for alert notifications
To disable a delay before sending a notification from an alerting rule:
- Open Cayosoft Guardian web portal.
- Expand Change Monitoring.
- Click on Change Alerting Rules.
- Select an alerting rule and click Properties.
- Double-click on the Raise Alert action on the Details tab.
- Disable Wait for initiator discovery before sending an alert.
- Press Save.
How to change the default timeout for sending notifications
- Open Cayosoft Guardian web portal.
- Expand Settings.
- Select Service settings.
- Select Alerting Rule Settings and click Properties.
- Adjust the values of the timeouts.
- Press Save.
NOTE: The value 0 disables the timeout for a specific system type. If the timeout value is too low your notifications might not include information about the initiator of the change.
