How to adjust the delay for alert notifications
Cayosoft Guardian allows to configure notifications for each raised alert. Some additional details that must be included in a message might not be available at the moment when an alert is created. There is a pre-configured delay to postpone notifications until this delay time passes or until all necessary data is discovered. This article describes how to disable this delay for a specific alerting rule and how to change the default delay timeout.
How to disable the delay for alert notifications
To disable a delay before sending a notification from an alerting rule:
Open Cayosoft Guardian web portal.
Expand Change Monitoring.
Click on Change Alerting Rules.
Select an alerting rule and click Properties.
Double-click on the Raise Alert action on the Details tab.
Disable Wait for initiator discovery before sending an alert.
Press Save.
How to change the default timeout for sending notifications
Open Cayosoft Guardian web portal.
Expand Settings.
Select Service settings.
Select Alerting Rule Settings and click Properties.
Adjust the values of the timeouts.
Press Save.
NOTE: The value 0 disables the timeout for a specific system type. If the timeout value is too low your notifications might not include information about the initiator of the change.
