Single server deployment
A single-server deployment is ideal for smaller environments or scenarios where the resource load is within certain limits. This deployment option works well when you have fewer users but a notable amount of operations or configurations managed through Cayosoft Administrator.
Typical single-server environment
For a small environment that meets single-server deployment requirements, the following limits should be observed:
User count: Up to 10,000 users.
Dynamic Groups: No more than 10 dynamic groups configured.
Self-Service Password Reset: Not enabled.
Automation and operations:
100–300 operations performed daily.
Simple automation configuration, such as provisioning and suspend runbooks.
Up to 10 automation rules and 3–5 runbooks.
Delegation: 10–20 administrative units with delegation enabled for helpdesk users.
Resource consumption: No extreme automation or resource-intensive tasks.
Recommended server specifications
For the environment described above, the following server specifications are sufficient:
1 Server
16 GB of RAM minimal.
RECOMMENDED:
* 16 GB minimum, recommended for environments to 1000 users in all managed systems.
* 24 GB is recommended for environments from 1000 to 50000 users in all managed systems.
* 32 GB is recommended for environments from 50000 to 300000 users or more in all managed systems.
* 48 GB and more is recommended for environments with 300000 users or more in all managed systems.
Other considerations
Load sources: web portal and automation tasks
The environment's load can generally be divided into two main sources:
Web Portal load: Activity generated by users and administrators interacting with the Web Portal.
Automation task load: Activity from automation tasks, runbooks, and rules executed within the system.
Lower user count with higher operational load
Fewer users, many groups.
Example: Environments with a small number of users but a significant number of groups configured in Cayosoft Administrator. These groups are regularly updated, consuming system resources.
Fewer users, frequent automation tasks
Example: 5,000 users, but many automation tasks are performed every hour.
All task execution and run history records are stored in the Cayosoft Administrator databases, which consume resources.
Additionally, environments with many delegated users can add to the operational overhead.
RECOMMENDED: For environments with higher operational loads, it is recommended to consider a multi-server deployment to better distribute the resource consumption and ensure optimal performance.
Higher user count with low operational load
In contrast, some customers may have a large user base but a simple configuration:
Example: Analytics collection rules that gather a small amount of data and run infrequently.
Minimal automation or delegated operations also contribute to a lower load.
RECOMMENDED: Such environments do not require a multi-server deployment, as the lower operational load does not warrant the added complexity or resource distribution of a multi-server setup.
