How to configure manual process termination
Summary: This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to configure process termination.
Applies to: Cayosoft Administrator 10.1.0 or later.
Overview
There are situations when you need to terminate the running rule. For example, you can run the automation rule and then realize that you need to modify the rule filter - to decrease the scope so it does not try to process too many users. The rules may be running for hours and so many other rules will be stuck in the queue.
You can terminate the running rules and web actions manually or by schedule, if they run more that the defined number of hours.
NOTE: Rule termination might leave objects in the managed systems in an inconsistent state. Execution process recreation may take up to several minutes. Product performance may degrade until the execution process is recreated.
Configuration of process termination by schedule
In the Cayosoft Administrator Console, navigate to Home > Configuration > Support > Advanced Process Management.
Terminate rule execution if it takes longer than (hours) setting is always applied whether manual termination is enabled or disabled. The default value is 48 hours. You can specify the required number of hours. If the rule runs more than the specified number of hours it will be terminated.

Troubleshooting of manual process termination

Rule execution history may have an error message with some system-level message depending on the place in the code where the process was terminated.
In the Event Log, the Event 6307 will be reported: Business Rule execution was terminated by a user.
When the running rule is terminated by schedule:
In the Event Log, the Event 6306 will be reported: process did not respond for the last {0} hours and would be terminated now.
