Authentication method replacement in Cayosoft Administrator
Summary: In Cayosoft Administrator v11.3.0, authentication methods for Web Actions were split into two categories: Hybrid (linked to AD Users Web Query) and Cloud-only (linked to Users Web Query). This update may cause certain behaviors during upgrades from versions earlier than 11.3.0, particularly with delegated actions. This article explains the behavior and steps required after upgrading.
Applies to: Cayosoft Administrator version 11.3.0 and later.
Overview
Version 11.3.0 Update
Web Action authentication methods were split into Hybrid and Cloud-only categories.
The Hybrid method links to the AD Users Web Query, while the Cloud-only method links to the Users Web Query.
Upgrade from earlier versions
When upgrading from a version earlier than 11.3.0, you may encounter duplicate Web Actions in the Users Web Query due to a bug fixed in version 11.3.1.
Problem after upgrade
Suppose you are upgrading from v11.2.3 or earlier directly to v11.3.1 and have delegation configured for specific Web Actions. In that case, the delegated users may no longer see certain Web Actions under the Users Web Query. This is because the Cloud-only action has fully replaced the Web Action.
Steps to resolve
To resolve this, you will need to update your Delegation and Attribute Policy rules to include the newly created Cloud-only action. Follow these steps:
Identify the impacted Web Actions in the Users Web Query that were replaced during the upgrade.
Update your Delegation Rules to ensure they include the new Cloud-only Web Action.
Update any Attribute Policy Rules that reference the old Web Action to point to the new Cloud-only action.
Test to ensure the delegated users can now see the Web Action in the Users Web Query.
After upgrading to Cayosoft Administrator v11.3.1 from v11.2.3 or earlier, it is essential to review and update your Delegation and Attribute Policy Rules to ensure proper visibility and access to Web Actions under the Users Web Query.
