AD Users | Self-Service Enrollment Welcome Notification rule
This rule queries Active Directory within the defined scope, returns all user accounts, identifies who have not enrolled and sends them enrollment welcome notification email.
NOTE: Default URLs use HTTPS due to Cayosoft’s requirement to use SSL on all Cayosoft Web Sites. Failure to enable SSL on your Cayosoft Servers will cause the link sent in this e-mail to fail when users click the link.
When to use this rule
Use this rule to invite users to the Cayosoft Self-Service.
A user can enroll in the Cayosoft Self-Service by selecting favorite questions from a list of provided samples and answering the selected questions. The user can also define his own set of questions. For details, please see the Enrolling your account for Self-Service article.
The rule queries Active Directory and then determines the user enrollment status by checking if specific self-service attributes have been populated on that user account. The rule sends a Welcome email to users who have not enrolled, and who have not been previously targeted with this Welcome email.
The number of new users to receive a Welcome email can be limited for each run, to reduce the potential load on a Help Desk. Another rule - AD Users | Self-Service Enrollment Reminder Notification rule - can be used to send a reminder email to invited users who have not yet enrolled.
You should delegate users the required set of permissions to enroll and use the Self-Service interface. You also should define end-user questions and set a data-encryption password. See Delegate access to Self-Service Password & Profile management and Сonfiguration of Self-Service password & profile management articles.
Rule Settings
| Setting name | Description |
|---|---|
| Query Section | |
| Limit scope to this domain or OU |
This setting defines the search query scope. To improve query performance, limit the scope to a specific OU. IMPORTANT: To test the rule configuration, limit the rule scope to an OU that contains test accounts or objects and use the Preview feature. |
| Query criteria |
Query criteria are sent with the query and may improve query performance. TIP: For additional information on the criteria builder, see the How to use Query Builder dialog for Query Criteria and Filter rule settings. |
| Filter |
Set the filtering conditions to hide unwanted data based on criteria not supported in the Query criteria setting. Example: filter by the found object Distinguished Name. TIP: For optimal performance, use the Query criteria setting above to filter objects whenever possible. |
| Limit new user invites |
Limit the number of new users invited for enrollment on each run, for example daily. TIP: A certain percentage of users would have questions about the Self-Service interface. Such users might start escalating these questions to the Help Desk, causing a spike in the volume of support calls. Use this parameter to manage the impact on the user base and regulate the potential amount of Help Desk calls. |
