How to set Hide from GAL option during new distribution group creation

Summary: This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to set the Hide from GAL option during a new distribution group creation.

Applies to: Cayosoft Administrator 6.0.0 or later

1. In the Cayosoft Administrator Console, navigate to CONFIGURATION > Web Portal > Web Actions > Active Directory > New Distribution Group.

2. Expand the Other Attributes section and set any Other Attribute field that is not used as msExchHideFromAddressLists.

3. Save changes

4. Navigate to CONFIGURATION > Web Portal > Attribute Policies.

5. Click Add Attribute Policy to create a new policy.

6. Select trustees if you need to add the policy only to specific users, or leave it applied to everyone.

7. Click Add policy scope and select [Active Directory] [AD Groups] [New Distribution Group].

8. Select just added policy scope and find the Other Attribute field that you set in Step 2.

9. Set the following options for the policy:

   • Default value = TRUE

   • Possible values = TRUE,FALSE

   • Override label = msExchHideFromAddressLists (or type any other label that you prefer)

   IMPORTANT: Be sure to set values in the upper case.

10. Save changes.
