Performance and scheduling recommendations for Dynamic and Family Groups
Dynamic Groups and Family Groups automate group membership and can process multiple membership rules on a schedule. When many groups and rules are configured, their execution can increase the load on the Cayosoft Administrator service.
As part of Cayosoft Administrator deployment planning, consider the number of Dynamic Groups (DGs) and Family Groups (FGs), how frequently their rules run, and whether multiple rules are scheduled to run at the same time.
Complex runbooks that include many Dynamic Groups can also result in numerous group membership rules being processed. When many Dynamic Groups are scheduled to run within the same period, they can create a high load on the Cayosoft Administrator service.
Use a dedicated server for Dynamic and Family Groups
For environments with a large number of Dynamic Groups and Family Groups, consider setting up a separate server within your domain to process their configurations.
A dedicated server can process Dynamic Group and Family Group rules separately from your primary Cayosoft Administrator Service, reducing competition for resources and helping maintain performance for other administrative tasks.
Optimize scheduling for Rules and Dynamic Groups
Prioritize time-sensitive actions. Schedule non-critical rules, such as Dynamic Group updates and other automation tasks, during off-peak hours to minimize competition for server resources.
Adjust rule execution frequency. Evaluate how frequently Dynamic Groups and other automated rules need to run. Avoid running rules more frequently than required for the business scenario to reduce overall system load.
