Execution History | Notify Administrator About Errors
Rule description
This rule scans the execution history in rules and notifies the administrator if any rule produced errors during the execution.
IMPORTANT: By default, the rule does not produce any execution history records; no runs are recorded in the Execution History of the rule to prevent rule from reporting itself.
When to use this rule
TIP: The rule is automatically created during installation in the Rules > Built-in Rules (Pre-configured) folder.
Use this rule to get notified if any of the rules that are configured in your environment produced an error during execution. The rule has a prerequisite to start collecting data:
The rule requires an initial run to start collecting data on errors. No email is sent on the first run—the rule reports on errors that occurred since the last data collection.
Next time you run the rule, the rule reports only on errors that have occurred since the last run. Schedule the rule to get reports about errors in other rules on a regular basis.
TIP: The rule sends no email if no errors occurred since the last run.
