Analytics Collection | Teams Usage
Rule description
This rule queries Microsoft Teams for the list of teams according to the specified query criteria. The rule then records the last file access time and the last post time of each of the teams to built-in virtual attributes csvaLastFileAccessTimestamp and csvaLastPost. It is recommended to schedule the rule to run weekly.
NOTE: It is required to assign the Teams license to the Microsoft 365 extension connection account.
When to use this rule
Use this rule to get Microsoft Teams usage statistics. The last file access time and last post time for each Team are used in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Teams Certification Review rules.

Maintain Teams Ownership |
To access Teams usage information, the Microsoft 365 connection account must be an owner of the target team. If a team doesn't have the Microsoft 365 connection account as an owner, it will be added by this rule. Specify if Microsoft 365 connection account should be removed or preserved after the statistics collection. |
| Maintain private channel ownership | To access private channel usage information, the Microsoft 365 connection account must be the owner of the target private channel. An account cannot be a channel owner without also being a parent Team member or owner. If a Team doesn't have the Microsoft 365 connection account as a private channel owner, it will be added by this rule. Specify if Microsoft 365 connection account should be removed or preserved after the statistics collection. |
| Cloud back-end services replication delay (seconds) | The default value is 15 seconds. |
| Last posting activity calculation | Specify if the top returned post or all posts should be used. The top returned post is quicker but depends on Teams API to return correctly ordered events, which should normally be the case. |
