Overview
Cayosoft Administrator introduces support for the sponsor attribute to help you track users responsible for the guests in your environment. Improve the entitlement management processes in your Microsoft 365 organization—refer to the list of possible implementations of the sponsor attribute in your Microsoft 365 environment:

Assigning sponsors
Cayosoft Administrator supports assigning a sponsor in the following scenarios:

When creating a new user via the New User web action.
-
When creating a new guest via the New Guest web action.
-
When editing an existing user/guest via the Properties web action.
Assigning sponsors to new users and guests
NOTE: The sponsor feature is disabled for both New User and New Guest web actions by default. Navigate to the web action settings and enable it to assign sponsors—refer to the following articles to learn more about the settings: New User web action (Microsoft 365) and New Guest web action.
When you create a new user or guest in Cayosoft Administrator, the final step of the New User and the New Guest web action wizard features the Sponsors section. You can add up to five sponsors to a user; the sponsor objects can be represented by the Microsoft 365 users, guests, and groups. Refer to the following steps to assign a sponsor to a new Microsoft 365 user or guest:

In the Web Portal, navigate to the target Virtual Admin Unit, select the Users or Guest Users web query, and run the New User or New Guest web action.

Proceed with the user creation wizard depending on the target web action.

In the Sponsors prompt, click Add to assign sponsors to the target user. Click OK > Create to complete the user creation process.
NOTE: When the sponsor feature is enabled for the New Guest web action, the service user specified in the Microsoft 365 extension settings is automatically added as a sponsor. The user can be removed from the list of sponsors, if needed.
Assigning sponsors to existing users and guests
NOTE: The sponsor feature is disabled for the Properties web actions by default. Navigate to the web action settings and enable it to assign sponsors—refer to the following articles to learn more about the settings: Properties web action (Microsoft 365 user).
When you manage existing users or guests in Cayosoft Administrator, you can assign a sponsor via the Properties web action of the corresponding web query. You can add up to five sponsors to a user; the sponsor objects can be represented by Microsoft 365 users, guests, groups, or the target user. Refer to the following steps to assign a sponsor to an existing Microsoft 365 user or guest:

In the Web Portal, select the target web query, highlight a user or a guest and click Properties.

Navigate to the Sponsors tab. Click Add to assign sponsors to the target user. Click OK > Update to complete the user creation process.
