Release notes — Cayosoft Administrator v12
NOTE: Some features listed below may not be available to all users yet. By default, Cayosoft Administrator utilizes the Mainstream channel to provide updates, which is the recommended option for most production environments. However, if you wish to try out new features before they become generally available, you can select the Early adopters update channel. Note that changing this setting will only impact future updates.
New features
Retirement of legacy Suspend configuration
The legacy Cayosoft Suspend™ configuration will be retired on June 1st, 2026. The legacy configuration will be removed in the product release following the retirement and will be no longer supported. The legacy Suspend rules will remain functional in older versions of Cayosoft Administrator with no support provided by Cayosoft. Migrate to the modern Suspend configuration before the retirement—refer to the following article for additional information on migration: Modern Suspend Configuration.
Multi-organizational-unit scopes
Cayosoft Administrator introduces support for the multi-organizational-unit scopes in Admin Units. Consolidate scattered OUs into a single view to locate, update, and report on objects within a single Admin Unit. Cut down on the configuration efforts while improving your delegation and policy scope.
Hybrid Users rule
Cayosoft Administrator v12.2.0 introduces the Hybrid Users rule, providing a consolidated view of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 user attributes in a single report. The rule streamlines license management and simplifies auditing tasks. It is ideal for scenarios such as:
Generating comprehensive audit reports on hybrid user accounts, ensuring data consistency across AD and Microsoft 365.
Quickly identifying hybrid users who have not yet configured modern MFA within the defined Entra ID administrative units.
Highlighting active on-premises users who lack Microsoft 365 licenses, facilitating efficient onboarding and license reconciliation.
Unlink action for web actions
Cayosoft Administrator v12.1.0 introduces the new Unlink action to streamline web action management. You can now unlink a web action from one or multiple web queries and maintain consistency instead of manually updating Virtual Admin Units.
Text File | Delete AD Objects rule
The Text File | Delete AD Objects rule allows administrators to delete Active Directory objects in bulk based on a provided text file. This rule is particularly useful for streamlining removing users, groups, computers, or organizational units (OUs) from AD, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of cleanup or de-provisioning tasks. Text File | DynamicAttributes™ Update AD Users Properties rule update
The Text File | DynamicAttributes™ Update AD Users Properties rule now supports delta changes. The new Update Method setting allows administrators to choose from three options:
Always update.
Only update empty values.
Only update on value difference.
The behavior applies to all non-skipped fields, ensuring updates occur only when necessary.
Sponsor attribute for Microsoft 365 users
Cayosoft Administrator v12.1 introduces support for the Sponsor attribute in the Microsoft 365 web queries. The attribute simplifies guest lifecycle management and access review processes. Sponsors help establish traceability for guest access and ownership in cloud and hybrid environments. Refer to the following article to learn more: Sponsors.
Performance improvements
Cayosoft Administrator v12.1 brings optimization improvements for the Console and Web Portal. The new version improves the console performance for larger environments; the RAM consumption and the OU search performance have been improved.
